In an earnest gesture of community support, Lesotho PostBank donated nappies, soft foods, and household packages to the Mo-rate Cerebral Palsy Association of Lesotho (MCPAL), an organization dedicated to caring for children living with cerebral palsy across the nation. The handover ceremony took place on Friday, 2nd August 2024, at Memorial Hall in Maseru.
Speaking on behalf of Lesotho PostBank, Chief Sales Officer Ms. ‘Mathabo Tshehlo emphasized the Bank’s commitment to addressing the key needs of children with cerebral palsy. “We recognized the importance of donating nappies, soft foods, and household packages because these items are essential for the well-being of children living with this condition,” she said.
Ms. Tshehlo further highlighted that this initiative aligns with the Bank’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) strategy, which aims to support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). “In particular, this support was in line with the Reduced Inequalities and No Poverty SDG’s”, she explained.
The donation also supports the national “Rata oa Heno” campaign, launched in honor of King Letsie III’s birthday in July. This campaign embodies the spirit of unity and community that the King has championed throughout his reign. The phrase ‘Rata Oa Heno,’ meaning ‘Love Your People,’ aims to foster a lasting legacy of service and solidarity among the Basotho people.
Mr. Taelo Lejakane, chairperson of MCPAL, expressed his gratitude for the Bank’s generosity. “This contribution will make a significant difference in the lives of the children we support. We are immensely thankful to Lesotho PostBank for their continued support.”
Ms. ‘Mamolise Falatsa, representing the Ministry of Tourism, Sports, Arts, and Culture, also echoed this sentiment. “The Ministry is proud to see initiatives like this, which align with the ‘Rata oa Heno’ campaign. It is through such acts of kindness and community support that we honor King Letsie III’s vision for a united and caring nation,” she said.
The event underscored Lesotho PostBank’s dedication to social responsibility and its ongoing efforts to uplift the community, particularly those most in need.
