The Lesotho Postal Services (LPS) is a GoL department under the Ministry of Communication, Science and Technology. The first LPS Branch was opened in Maseru on the 2nd February 1925, by the then Resident Commissioner of the Basotholand Lt. Col. Sir Edward Carraway.

The LPB and LPS are strategic partners in execution of the GoL strategy to access financial services to the un-banked Basotho through the LPS forty seven (47) post offices spread through out the country. The LPS provides space which the LPB utilizes to serve the un-banked Basotho.
